For God’s Glory and only for His Glory I have been saved, predestined before the earth was formed. To show his love and grace and All this for God’s Glory. Ephesians 1:5 says “In love He predestined us”
God declared creation and it was so, everything was created to bring maximum Glory to God. Corinthians 1:16″For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things were created through him and for him” God created the heavens, earth, animals, plants, and humans, looked at it all and called it good, and creation was good because God created it. Mankind was
in perfect communion with God
Through selfishness man, Adam, sinned and turned the whole world upside down. No longer was mankind in perfectcommunion with God, no longer did man walk with God, no longer was pain, death, and sorrow unknown to man. The fallcompletely seperated man from God. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God”
God gave the Law to his people. The law is a forrunner to Jesus and shows how far we all fall short. It was created and established all for God’s Glory.
Jesus lived a perfect life, without blemish, and died the death that he did not deserve, for us. He bore all the weight of our sin and suffered God’s wrath on our account. John 216-17 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have ethernal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
I grew up going to church. At the age of 10 my dad passed away. God provided a job for my mom working at our local church. So after school I would walk to church and spend time with the preacher and youth minister every day. Talking about school, friends, hobbies, and wherever the conversation would lead. Many other men in the church stepped up in being a good influence and mentoring me. Deacons, Elders and other men in the church would come by with their families and visit with us, spending time with us, and showing God’s love. Some taught me how to step up and pray in
class and during services. Others took me out in the country to learn how to drive. My uncle gave me a job at his store and invested many Saturdays on teaching me different things, from repairing an old boat to building the best windmill for a school project. Many men invested in my life, showing God’s love. One summer at church camp, knowingall the love and time people have invested in my life, I realized how much greater God’s love for me was, how much greater God’s grace was. I realized I was so sinful and needed Jesus as my saviour. I placed my faith and Jesus and was baptized at camp. Ezekiel 36:26-27 “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you,
and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.”
At the moment I responded in faith, that was given to me through the Holy Spirit, I was justifed, seen as blameless. Galatians 2:16 says, “Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ”. This isn’t the one single point of my salvation, salvation is linear. Each day, each hour my faith increases. Relying on God, anger, and impatience are just a few sins God is working on and helping me to understand and recongnize as my faith increases.
And because I am justified I can be called God’s son. Ephesians 1:5 “In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will”.
Through sanctification I am living less nd less for myself. Where the foundation of sin is mankind subbing for God, salvation is Christ subbing for us. I have been glorifying and serving God with Gatlin in serving the Lord, a few of these are supporting the childrens shelter, watching kids during the Foster Support Group, and teaching Wed night youth class. I am average at best in everything I do, being a father/husband, in athletics, my job, playing piano Sunday mornings, speaking in public, etc, etc. Selfishly (sinfully) I use to hide these talents but through discipleship, prayer and daily Bible reading, God made it clear no matter how average you thing you are, use it for the Glory of God.
In Exodus Moses complains to God that he is slow of speech and tongue, and God replies in Ch 4 verse 11 “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now therefor go, and I will be with your moth and teach you what you shall speak.”. One area I can see my sanctification and faith growing is my trust in the Lord. No longer am I selfishly afraid to use my average at best talent to Glorify God.
At the end of our days we will spend eternity in God’s Glory. No more sickness, sorrow, or pain, we will have a perfect body, in perfect communion with God. We will know the fruits of the spirit and know them in full. Revelation21:3 & 4 “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.'”
