Gatlin Baptist Church is a group of people not a building. That said, our story is about what God has done in this people. A few conversations with people in this community and you are sure to hear someone say that they used to be part of Gatlin, and then it is common to hear why they no longer are.
The current body thanks the Lord for every story we have heard and the countless ones we will not have the privilege of knowing, of God’s grace and goodness that has historically been poured upon those who have been one of us.
And we whole heartedly mourn, confess, and repent of every sin that has been a hinderance, obstacle, and distraction to the love and goodness of the Father as most greatly displayed in the Gospel. We acknowledge that the unity that is available between the children of God has not been one of the most common stories shared about us.
The story continues to this day. We, the current body, are being sanctified by our Lord, through His Spirit, and we are excited. We pray the Lord will grant the obedience necessary that we will honor Christ and walk together in a manner worthy of His name. We are focusing on Christ, trusting the bible which says, “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV)”
This transformation is necessary for the sanctification of us as individuals and as a community. If you are looking for a body of believers who are serious about being the Bride of Christ. Come and join us.
